Are you a fan of interesting food? well if you are i'm curious just how far you will go with it all...do you love food so much that you'll try anything to tickle your taste buds...well if you're "healthy" (no pun intended) lady like me then tell me what you think about these delicacies...
*frogs tails: tastes like chicken...seriously!
*snails: very chewy, slimy but have a wierd addictive taste.
*caterpillars also known as "amacimbi" in ndebele: are better eaten when they have been fried till they are crunchy and dry. can also be eaten slighty soggy...adds to the flavour. a personal favorite of mine.i prefer them crunchy though. have spikes which can hurt you sometimes but you get used to it after a while.
*cow's head: a delicacy for the elders in my culture. the eyes are quite good (have i grossed you out yet?) oh and of course the tongue is an added advantage. the ears can be a little tough but hey it works your jaw bones.
*pork trotters: i think these are international. i've never had a liking for them but i hear they taste real good with a starch of some sort on the side and coke to go with it (hehehehe!)
*tripe: cow's stomach/intestines. my dad likes these. i got sick of them after having too much with my host mom. she's mexican and she loves them. i have had my fair share for life.
*horse: actually it tastes good. had in belgium a few years ago. didnt know i had eaten it till i was done. didnt kill me so i think its pretty cool.
*snake: slides down your throat just like octopus. no. i
can't so snake. serious phobia against them.
alrighty, now i'm not sure if i'll be alive tomorrow for posting this, but hey, i want to hear about your "exotic" experiences. it will be worth my time!
